Overview
This is an 18‑month temporary position covering parental leave, with a target start date in early August. The Assistant Director reports directly to the Executive Director and serves on the Palliser Management Team.
Responsibilities
- Administrative support – policies, strategic planning, operational procedures, budgets, and grant administration.
- Staff training – lead on program development and evaluation, community engagement, digital services, and organization of the annual branch staff workshop.
- Programs and outreach – develop region‑wide programming, build community partnerships, promote outreach activities, manage the website and social media.
- Collection development and management – manage acquisitions and vendor relations, assist branch staff with selection and weeding activities.
- Staff leadership – support, evaluate, coach, mentor, and conduct performance reviews for rural branch staff.
