**Responsibilities**- Develops strategic sourcing plans and manages sourcing activities for materials, tools and spare parts.Performs comparative analysis of competing suppliers in order to recommend the most competitive source for a specified commodity.
- Negotiates and establishes materials, tools and spare parts prices in support of the department's cost reduction goals.Assists other buyers with complex price negotiations.
- Engages with end users of assigned materials, tools and spare parts (client groups and/or engineers) to establish understanding of the requirements and specifications of materials, tools and spare parts.
- Plans, develops, implements, and maintains cost reduction plans for assigned materials, tools and spare parts.Tracks and validates cost savings data.
