Dialysis Assistant (Unit Assistant 4)

Position Summary

Supports and assists nursing staff in providing optimal care for dialysis patients in the Renal Program. Works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will work at the WRHN sites and satellite units, contributing to ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Position Requirements

• Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Dialysis Assistant Certificate required. Candidates enrolled in the Dialysis Assistant Certificate course and who will obtain the certificate within 6 months of hire will be considered.
• Current experience within the Renal program preferred.
• Familiar with aseptic and sterile techniques and hospital procedures.
• Able to lift, carry, stoop and pull.
• Must be flexible and able to work in a rapidly changing environment with minimal supervision.
• Working knowledge of hospital computer systems.
