Job Description

A dishwasher’s primary role is to ensure that all dishes, utensils, glassware, and cooking equipment are cleaned, sanitized, and ready for use in a kitchen or food service establishment.

Responsibilities

  • Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and glassware using industrial dishwashing machines or by hand.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area and kitchen equipment.
  • Sort and organize clean dishes and utensils for easy access.
  • Ensure proper disposal of trash and waste, including recycling.
  • Monitor dishwashing supplies such as detergent, sanitizers, and gloves, and inform management when supplies are low.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary working environment, following food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Assist with other kitchen tasks as needed, including cleaning floors and kitchen surfaces.
