About the role

 

We are looking for a Core Yard Technician who will provide field support to the Mungari Resource Development, Open Pit and Underground Geology teams, located 25km from central Kalgoorlie. This varied role is a fantastic opportunity for someone entering the mining industry who can quickly learn the technical skills but already has the personal abilities to deliver the below responsibilities.

  • Collect geological samples from suitable sites, in either the field or open pit environment as directed, mark samples, note locations and dispatch to laboratory as appropriate

  • Prepare site appropriately, including field set up, gridding, clearing, supervision of sump digging, track clearing, drill pad setup and building of causeways

  • Collect drilling samples as directed, split as required and dispatch to laboratory

  • Complete marking up of core, geotechnical logging, and specific gravity determinations
