It hosts MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and is a founding participant in European HPC initiatives such as PRACE and EuroHPC JU. BSC’s mission is to research, develop and manage information technologies to facilitate scientific progress, combining HPC service provision with R&D across life, earth and engineering sciences. The centre employs more than 1,000 staff from 60 countries.
Key Duties
- Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot core IT services including email systems, web services, databases and server infrastructure.
- Administer, optimise and maintain storage subsystems and backup solutions, ensuring data integrity, availability and efficient resource utilisation.
