Responsibilities

  • Assign projects to subordinates and staff related to employment, compensation, labour relations and employee relations
  • Coordinate the activities of the HR department to ensure they meet organization goals
  • Direct and control daily operations
  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate human resources policies and programs
  • Advise managers and employees on interpretation of HR policies, benefit programs and collective agreements
  • Plan, develop and implement recruitment strategies
  • Research and prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions and salary scales
  • Negotiate collective agreements on behalf of employers or workers
  • Recruit and hire staff
