Job Description

  • Experience of working with childrenwith special educational needs (e.g. ASD, visual impairment, emotional andbehaviour, dyslexia, etc.) and with behaviour management;
  • Physically fit to support childrenphysically and provide physical support throughout the school day asappropriate. This may include, but is not limited to, lifting, carry8ing orusing safer restraint training techniques with pupils as required:
  • Ability to support and assistchildren’s pastoral needs, e.g. dressing/intimate care/going to thetoilet/changing nappies/caring for sick, injured or distressed children;
  • Knowledge of the Foundation StageCurriculum and the National Curriculum;
  • Practical knowledge of supportingindividual pupils or small groups under the teacher’s direction;
  • Ability to manage and supervisepupils;
  • Ability to communicate effectivelyboth verbally and in writing;
