Mainline Excavator Operator

Reporting to the Foreman, the Mainline Excavator Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the excavator. The operator will also perform assigned duties to ensure that the completed work meets contract specifications.

• Actively contribute to the safety culture, promoting a safe and productive work environment
• Operate an excavator and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment
• Conduct pre-operational checks, and clean, lubricate, and refill equipment as needed
• Collaborate with ground personnel in the excavation and installation of pipes, ensuring proper line and grade
• Ensure trenches are excavated to the correct depth and grade
• Oversee the placement of water, storm, and sanitary sewer pipes in the excavation
• Follow ground crew instructions for craning, gravel placement, and grading
