Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Engineers working on the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program at the Bruce Power site oversee the design, testing, and deployment of specialized tooling and reactor components. They collaborate with trade labor and construction teams to facilitate the safe refurbishment of CANDU reactor units.

Core Responsibilities

• Tooling Design & Modification: Supporting remote-handling, retubing, and feeder-welding tooling required for reactor disassembly and reassembly.
• Site Support & Walk-downs: Frequently executing on-site evaluations, physical plant walk-downs, and observations to verify mechanical systems and ensure smooth design-to-field transitions.
• Documentation & Compliance: Supporting with technical documents, stress calculations, engineering evaluations, and compliance reports according to CANDU nuclear standards.
