Nurse Practitioner

Summary of responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of System Navigation, Geriatric Mental Health Services, Substance Use Day Treatment and Community Withdrawal Management Services the Nurse Practitioner (NP) works collaboratively with health care professionals from primarily Community Withdrawal Management Services as well as CAMHS and across the hospital to assist in the provision of care for clients who are experiencing substance use health, addiction and/or mental health issues. The NP coordinates client care by working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate clinical interventions.

The NP will demonstrate autonomy while assuming accountability and the authority to independently communicate a diagnosis, prescribe drugs and order a range of diagnostic tests as per approved hospital directives and the College of Nurses.
