Job Description
S UMMARY : The Perinatal Scrub Technician (PST) performs duties related to patient care and comfort under the direct supervision of licensed personnel. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PST functions as a team member in the provision of patient care, before, during, and immediately following the surgical procedure performed in the Operating Room. In addition, the PST performs special procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
1. Assists in the patient preparation, positioning, and surgical preps as directed.
2. Assist in the provision of a safe and aseptic environment for the Perinatal patient.
3. Jointly with the Circulating Charge RN, is responsible for the needle, sponge, and instrument counts.
4. Shows respect for instruments and handle them carefully. Uses, with understanding, special equipment and is responsible for cleaning them. Performs other related duties as neede...
