Senior Teaching Assistant: Lead Class Coverage SEND Support

Key Purpose: to teach whole classes in the absence of class teachers e.g. during their PPA, leadership release time, or absence due to illness.

This role will complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities. It will involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for whole classes, monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupil achievement, progress and development. The role will also involve responsibility for the management and development of a specialist area within the school and, where required, the management of other support staff.

Main Activities
