The European Space Agency’s (ESA) CELESTE programme aims to define and evaluate a new generation of satellite navigation systems based on low Earth orbit (LEO) constellations, complementing the current GNSS systems in medium Earth orbit (MEO). This programme addresses challenges relating to technology, system architecture, interoperability and the provision of high-precision, resilient and low-latency navigation services.
