Trainee Materials Testing Technician

As a Trainee Field Technician, you will work on active construction sites, supporting the testing and inspection of materials to ensure they meet required quality and safety standards. This is a hands‑on role carried out entirely in a site environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with on‑site testing of construction materials such as concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates.
• Carry out basic field tests under supervision (e.g., concrete slump tests, soil compaction checks).
• Collect and label samples from site for further testing.
• Accurately record test data and observations.
• Set up testing equipment on‑site.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and site rules.
• Work closely with other technicians and site engineers.

Requirements

• GCSEs (or equivalent), particularly in Maths and Science.
• Full UK driving licence (preferred due to travel between sites).
