Responsibilities

Infrastructure Room Setup

  • Plan infrastructure room layout (rack positioning, airflow, access)
  • Install and configure:
    • Server racks and mounting
    • Cable management systems
    • Power distribution units (PDUs)
  • Coordinate with facilities/vendors for:
    • Power availability
    • Network readiness

Network Infrastructure Setup

  • Configure network equipment:
    • Switches, routers (if applicable), firewalls (basic setup)
  • Implement LAN/VLAN design and IP addressing scheme
  • Set up connectivity to servers and storage
  • Apply security baseline configuration

Virtual Machine (VM) Infrastructure Setup

  • Install and configure virtualization platform (e.g., VMware, Hyper V)
  • Set up hypervisors, datastores, and resource pools
