JOB DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary research team at the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP), working in close collaboration with clinical staff and technology developers in a hospital environment. The position is focused on the development and optimization of artificial intelligence and computer vision algorithms for surgical instrument recognition, applied to real-world clinical workflows.
The candidate will contribute to innovative R&D activities aimed at improving the identification, classification and tracking of surgical instruments, supporting advanced digital solutions for operating rooms and central sterilization units. The work will be carried out in a highly translational setting, combining applied research, software development and validation in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
