2026 Marker

We are currently recruiting markers for the 2026 exams. Opportunities are available across all subjects and levels, and full training will be provided.

Markers play an important role in supporting the exam diet. Their role is to ensure consistent application of national standards when marking candidate assessments. 

Being a marker with SQA provides you with an inside look at our processes, procedures and national standards for a subject and level. It also offers a chance to develop skills and knowledge and provides an opportunity to gather evidence for continuing professional development.

To undertake the marker role you should ideally be currently delivering the qualification at the level you wish to apply for along with at least one more year of delivery experience; this can include a probation year and the two years do not need to be consecutive.
