Responsibilities include operating 3-axis and multi-axis machines (5-axis milling) for new products and proving them. The position also involves assisting operators with setups, machining, and coordinating with the QA department to ensure the product quality meets customer requirements.

5-axis Milling Operator and setter

Responsibilities

Use appropriate clamps or fixtures to hold the workpiece firmly in place. Double-check that there is no movement. Use alignment tools like dial indicators or edge finders to ensure the workpiece is positioned correctly. Verify all machine settings, including speed, feed rate, and tool path, to match the requirements of our task. Perform dry runs without cutting to check the tool path and ensure there are no collisions or errors.

To ensure that the planned production aligns with the daily planning of product codes to achieve the KPIs.

Ability to read and modify CNC programs for optimal performance.

To support supervisors in KAIZEN, 5-S, PDCA, activities on daily basis.

Select and optimize cutting tools, troubleshoot tool-related issues, and ensure efficient machining processes.

Perform first article inspections and verify conformance to specifications using precision metrology tools.

Work closely with engineers and machinists to maintain throughput and reduce scrap/rework.

Experience in leading or mentoring machinists and managing workflows involving multiple machines.

Making necessary adjustments during the machining process to maintain precision.

Requirements

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. 4-5 years of relevant experience in 5axis milling (VMC) operations, tooling, manual/CAM programming basic knowledge, setting and prove-outs.

Expertise in Machining Line (Milling), relevant experience in metal cutting sector, Communication skills, hands-on experience and Problem-solving techniques.

Certifications in Basics of CNC Programming is added advantage. (Not mandatory) MS Office and CNC Machining (Mandatory).
