About the Role:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial accounting, taxation, budgeting, compliance, and cost control while ensuring smooth project financial management. This role demands expertise in GST, TDS, financial reporting, and accounts reconciliation, with a strong ability to work in a fast-paced construction and infrastructure environment.
The role will also involve handling end-to-end purchasing and procurement activities for project sites from the Jaipur office, including material procurement coordination, vendor management, purchase documentation, and cost control.
In addition, the candidate will be responsible for maintaining complete record of all the expenses and financial transactions in Tally, and ensuring accurate documentation of day-to-day site-level transactions. The candidate shall also maintain detailed records of daily consumption of materials at the plant site, such as Bitumen, Grit, Diesel, FO, LDO, etc., and track the quantity of each material incoming and outgoing from the plant site.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure timely bookkeeping.
- Record all cash and bank transactions on a daily basis and reconcile with physical vouchers and bank statements.
- Prepare financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow statements).
- Ensure proper accounting of mobilization advances, retention money, and security deposits.
- Ensure timely closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts.
- Review project-wise cost allocation and financial records for accuracy.
- Ensure all site-level expenses and material usage are properly captured and reflected in the books of accounts.
- Ensure all purchase-related transactions are properly accounted for and linked with corresponding purchase orders, GRNs, and vendor invoices in the accounting system.
2. Taxation & Compliance
- Handle GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory filings.
- Coordinate with auditors for tax audits and statutory audits.
- Assist in resolving tax-related queries and notices from government authorities.
- Ensure compliance with E-Way Bill and RCM (Reverse Charge Mechanism) provisions.
- Keep track of latest amendments in tax laws and accounting standards.
- Ensure GST Input Credit reconciliation with purchase registers.
- Ensure GST compliance on all purchase transactions, including verification of vendor GST details, tax rates, and eligibility of Input Tax Credit (ITC).
3. Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Manage vendor payments, review invoices, and ensure timely disbursements.
- Track receivables, follow up with clients for payments, and manage cash flows.
- Reconcile bank statements, ledgers, and financial data.
- Monitor subcontractor and supplier payments.
- Ensure proper deductions of TDS and WHT from vendor payments.
- Maintain a credit control system to ensure timely collection of outstanding dues.
- Verify vendor bills against purchase orders, delivery challans, and material receipt confirmations before processing payments.
4. Budgeting & Cost Control
- Assist in financial planning, conduct cash flow forecasting and liquidity analysis.
- Control project expenditures and analyze cost variances.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives to enhance profitability.
- Develop project cost tracking reports for senior management.
- Monitor and verify the daily material consumption data received from the plant, cross-check with stock registers, and ensure no discrepancies between physical and recorded inventory.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute purchase of construction materials, consumables, spares, and services required at project sites.
- Prepare purchase requests, obtain internal approvals, issue purchase orders (POs), and track order execution.
- Negotiate rates with suppliers in coordination with management to ensure cost efficiency and timely availability of materials.
- Maintain comparative statements, vendor rate analysis, and purchase cost records for management review.
5. Coordination & Liaison Work
- Liaise with banks, financial institutions, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Work with internal teams for smooth project financing and fund management.
- Support project teams with financial documentation and reporting.
- Ensure timely renewal of bank guarantees and overdraft limits.
- Assist in the preparation of project financial proposals for tenders and bidding.
- Coordinate closely with plant and site engineers for material tracking, stock updation, and reconciliation of consumption data.
- Act as a central coordination point between site teams, vendors, transporters, and management for all purchasing-related activities.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / CA-Inter or equivalent.
- Experience: 3–7 years in accounting and finance, preferably in construction/infrastructure.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Tally ERP, SAP, or other ERP software.
- Expertise in GST, TDS, and Income Tax laws.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, financial modeling and MIS Reporting.
- Ability to maintain daily material consumption registers and perform reconciliation between physical stock and accounts data.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, purchase documentation, and vendor management in construction projects.
