12-month Fixed Term Contract

Company Background

Our client is a professional performing arts company located in the Sydney Creative Arts Precinct, Walsh Bay. As a leading company in its field, it shares cultural works with audiences locally and internationally, making a significant impact on the performing arts scene for over 30 years!

This role is a fixed-term contract due to start in February 2026. You will be covering someone on parental leave for a minimum of 12 months.

The Role

In this broad role, you will report to an extremely down-to-earth and approachable CFO. Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Month-end journals (accruals, balance sheet reconciliations)
  • Reconciling ticket sales 
  • Invoicing and bank reconciliations
  • Royalty calculations and reconciliations
  • Ad hoc reporting for broader team
  • Providing support to accounts assistant
  • Payroll assistance
  • Operational support (e.g. point of contact for outsourced IT)

Your Background

To be considered for this Accountant opportunity, you will meet most of the following criteria:

  • Prior experience in a similar role (Accountant, Senior Bookkeeper, Accounts & Operations All-rounder, Finance Officer, Assistant Accountant, etc.)
  • Experience performing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables and vlookups)
  • Royalties experience is highly desirable
  • A passion for the arts/music industry is desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Full Australian working rights
