Accountant - A Real Estate & Hospitality Startup - Bengaluru ( Remote / Hybrid )


Job Summary:

A Real Estate & Hospitality Startup is keen to hire a SQ CA / Graduate with 4+ years of experience in accounting, statutory compliances, MIS reporting, reconciliations, financial operations for In-house accountant. They will also responsible for payroll process, invoices, vendor management and provide audit support.

Our client is a real estate and hospitality company specializing in short-term rentals. They manage a portfolio of over 100 high-quality properties, including Airbnb listings, and are dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences for both guests and property owners.

Reports To: Financial Controller & Management


Roles & Responsibilities :

1. Daily Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Maintain accurate daily bookkeeping in Tally/Zoho/QuickBooks.
  • Record all vendor invoices, utility bills, owner rents, AMC charges, and operational expenses.
  • Track daily revenue from Airbnb, Booking.com, Agoda, MakeMyTrip, and direct bookings.

2. Payments & Reconciliation

  • Handle all daily operational payments (vendors, utilities, staff, rents).
  • Perform real-time reconciliation of bank statements, UPI payments, OTA payouts, and petty cash.
  • Maintain daily reconciliation sheets and report discrepancies immediately.

3. Payroll Management

  • Prepare monthly salary sheets for housekeeping, operations, and support staff.
  • Oversee TDS, PF, ESI, and compliance filings related to payroll.

4. Owner & Vendor Management

  • Process monthly rent payouts, utility payments, and vendor settlements.
  • Maintain proper documentation and payment cycles.

5. OTA Financial Operations

  • Reconcile booking-level data including commissions, GST, refunds, and net payouts.
  • Address payout mismatches and coordinate resolution with OTA partners.

6. MIS & Financial Reporting

  • Prepare property-wise and company-level P&L; statements.-
  • Create occupancy vs revenue reports, cost analysis, and monthly cash flow forecasts.
  • Submit weekly and monthly MIS reports to the leadership team.

7. GST, TDS & Compliance

  • Manage GST and TDS calculations and filings.
  • Coordinate with external CA for statutory filings and audits.

8. Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Monitor operational spending and implement cost optimization strategies.
  • Track housekeeping, maintenance, and utility expenses per property.

9. Documentation & Audit Support

  • Maintain accurate financial records, contracts, invoices, and receipts.
  • Ensure audit readiness at all times.


Role Requirements:

  • 4–6 years of accounting experience (hospitality, real estate, or startup preferred).
  • Strong expertise in payments, daily reconciliation, GST, TDS, and MIS.
  • Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, dashboards).
  • Experience with accounting tools such as Tally, Zoho, or QuickBooks.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and process-oriented approach


Education: SQ CA / Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field


Experience: 4+ years of relevant experience ( preferred in Hospitality, real-estate or startup )


Working days: Monday to Saturday ( Initially WFH later Hybrid )
