Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to manage financial operations of construction projects, maintain accurate books of accounts, track project-wise expenses, and ensure statutory compliance. The role requires coordination with site engineers, vendors, and management.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts & Finance
- Maintain day-to-day accounting entries related to construction projects
- Handle cash, bank, and journal entries
- Maintain ledgers, trial balance, and final accounts
- Prepare monthly MIS reports for management
Project & Site Accounting
- Maintain project-wise costing and expense tracking
- Record material purchases, labour payments, subcontractor bills
- Monitor site expenses and compare with budgets
- Coordinate with site engineers for measurement books (MB) and bills
Vendor & Contractor Management
- Process supplier invoices and subcontractor bills
- Maintain accounts payable and receivable
- Track advances, retentions, and bill settlements
Statutory Compliance
- Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B)
- Handle TDS (Contractors, Professionals) and returns
- Ensure compliance with income tax and other statutory requirements
Payroll & Administration
- Handle payroll, wages, and labour payments
- Maintain PF, ESI records (if applicable)
Audit & Documentation
- Assist in internal and statutory audits
- Maintain proper documentation of bills, vouchers, and contracts
- B.Com / M.Com in Accounting or Finance
- Knowledge of construction accounting is mandatory
- CA (Inter) / CMA / MBA Finance is an added advantage
- Proficiency in Tally, Excel (MIS, formulas)
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, and construction contracts
- Understanding of BOQ, project costing, and cash flow
- Good coordination and reporting skills
- 2–6 years of experience in a construction or real estate company
