Adecco Professional is currently partnering with a client to hire for an Event Accountant job opening in Toronto, ON - note that this role is primarily remote however you may be required to go to event locations at times. This exciting opportunity will have your working a variety of day-to-day accounting functions while getting involved in various event-related specific tasks for approximately 10 months (give or take) with a start date of mid-February. The ideal candidate will bring just 3-5 years' experience working in a bookkeeper or accountant position combined with a flexible and can-do personality. As a key member of North America accounting team, you will help with daily accounting functions where your responsibilities may include but not be limited to:
- Perform all bookkeeping functions and prepare profit & loss statements for assigned event venues
- Accounts payable, ensuring accurate and timely processing in coordination with internal teams and systems
- Prepare and process invoices, ensuring alignment with event budgets and contracts
- Handle accounts payable, ensuring vendor invoices are paid promptly and correctly
- Manage high-volume financial transactions with precision and efficiency
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to resolve financial queries and maintain strong relationships
- Assist with event financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Support finance managers with reporting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis
- Utilize NetSuite for financial tracking, reporting, and reconciliation
- Wear multiple hats and pivot quickly to meet evolving business needs
The qualifications for the Event Accountant job opening in Toronto, ON include:
- Just 3-5 years of experience in a Bookkeeper or Financial Accountant capacity required
- Complete post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Experience in hospitality, vendor communication, event site operations, or similar industries is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with NetSuite a strong asset, if not, experience in other ERP tools; advanced Excel is required
- Strong organization skills and the ability to take initiative and problem solve as second nature
- Flexible, adaptable and someone who takes initiative, is a self starter yet collaborative
- Ability to travel to event sites in the Toronto/GTA area; flexible to work additional hours/evenings on event days
