Accounting Controller

Overview

We're looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Controller to join our growing accounting operations team. You'll play a key role in ensuring our clients' financials are accurate, compliant, and well-organized — supporting some of the most innovative companies in tech, fintech, and AI.

You'll work closely with one of our U.S.-based Controllers, forming a two-person team responsible for maintaining high-quality accounting across multiple clients. Responsabilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting in QuickBooks, including AR, AP, billing, reconciliations, journal entries, prepaid schedules, deferred revenue, and revenue recognition.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all financial records.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all accounts are properly reconciled and documented.
• Prepare and maintain financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) in collaboration with our U.S. Controller.
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards, policies, and best practices.
• Follow and improve established checklists and processes to ensure efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on accounting or controller experience, ideally managing multiple entities or clients.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, month-end close, and general ledger management.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks (certification or willingness to complete QuickBooks training).
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• A calm, process-driven mindset with the ability to handle multiple priorities under pressure.
• Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating with a remote U.S.-based team.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Based in Mexico (required)

Nice to Have

• CPA certification or equivalent.
• Experience in client-facing or startup environments.
• Proficiency with remote collaboration tools (Slack, Notion, Zoom, etc.).
