Job Description – Accounting Specialist

Location: Hybrid (Once a Month need to be at the office in Puebla)

Reports to: Accounting Team Lead

Position Summary

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including processing transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and process accounting transactions in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Perform and review timely and accurate bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded in the accounting system.
• Liaise and collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure the completeness of bank reconciliations.
• Review and ensure accuracy of credit card transactions, maintaining compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Manage and update prepaid accounts schedules, preparing and posting related journal entries in the accounting system.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Maintain organized and accurate accounting records for audits and compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper documentation and coding of expenses.
• Assist in process improvement initiatives within the accounting department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 3–5 years of experience in accounting roles.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP / IFRS).
• Proficiency with ERP systems – SAP an asset.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent critical thinking and results oriented.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in multinational companies.
• Experience working with multiple currencies.
• Advanced English proficiency (spoken and written).
