We are looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to manage accounting and tax operations for our French head entity and support international subsidiaries. The role focuses on FR GAAP statutory reporting, IFRS reporting inputs, VAT and corporate tax compliance, R&D cost accounting and reporting, and improving accounting tools and processes. You will report to the Head of Accounting (Paris) and join a team of about 8 people located in France and North America. Due to the collaborative nature of this position, we expect this position to be in the office a few days a week.
What You'll Do
Lead daily accounting activities for the French head entity: account receivables/payables, payroll posting, bank reconciliations and GL maintenance.Own month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close for France; deliver accurate financials and reconciliations within agreed deadlines.Prepare statutory French GAAP financial statements and provide reconciliations/ working papers for IFRS consolidation.Manage VAT, other indirect taxes and corporate tax filings; coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors.Account for R&D project costs: classify capitalizable vs. expensed items, maintain project tracking, and contribute to documentation for CIR submissions.Support intercompany accounting and transfer pricing implementation where applicable.Recommend and help implement process and system improvements.Ensure audit-ready documentation and respond to audit queries.Mentor junior accounting staff. What You Bring
Must have
Accounting degree (DCG/DSCG or equivalent) and 7+ years progressive accounting experience, ideally in an accounting firm and/or a multinational corporation.Strong practical knowledge of French GAAP and French tax rules (VAT, corporate tax)ERP experience and advanced Excel skills (NetSuite and/or Coupa experience is a plus).Interest or demonstrated expertise in accounting for R&D capitalized costs and applying R&D tax credit regulations.Fluent French and English (written & spoken). Hands-on R&D/CIR experience.Practical IFRS/consolidation experience.Experience with transfer pricing/intercompany accounting.Experience with reporting/BI tools or ERP admin tasks. Hiring Process:
