Role objective and areas of focus

Role

The primary objective of the Accounts Payable Officer is to maintain accurate and efficient reconciliations for all vendors, GL accounts, bank reconciliations and inventory costs. The core functions of the role include:

Data Entry

• Accounts
• Payable
• Month-End Processing

Key responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Officer will include but are not limited to:

Data Entry

• Entering or uploading invoices into paperless system ProSpend, ensuring accuracy.
• Proactively following up on and addressing invoice entry errors e.g. GL, entity etc.
• Ensuring all Purchase Orders and invoices reconcile.
• Forwarding all invoice/PO discrepancies to the respective team to resolve.
• Creating new vendors, both overseas and local ensuring accuracy of all data.
• Assist with ad-hoc data entry where required.

Accounts Payable

• Ensure all invoices processed have appropriate approvals.
• Ensure bank accounts are reconciled for both entities Directed Electronics & Directed Technologies – to ensure ledgers and figures are up-to-date.
• Review and action emails sent to multiple inboxes e.g. own and accounts etc.
• Maintain clean GL accounts i.e. clearing accounts, landed cost etc.
• Assist with ad-hoc accounts payable tasks where required.
• Efficient and accurate reconciliation of credit card statements.
• Efficient and accurate reconciliation of bank payments across multiple bank accounts.

Month-End Processing

• Promptly attend to any ad hoc requirements from the CFO and Accounts Payable Manager in relation to month-end processing.
• Ensure efficient and accurate end-of-month processing.
