Bethanie, Western Australia’s leading not for profit aged care and retirement living provider, has been warmly welcoming and caring for seniors for over 70 years.

We are looking for an exceptional Activity Assistant for our Port Kennedy Social Centre. Reporting to the Social Centre Co-ordinator, you will run programs that promote social engagement for our clients. You will also provide client transport as required.

This is role is offered on a permanent, part-time basis at the Port Kennedy Social Centre. Shifts will be:

  • 8am – 4pm Mondays
  • 8am – 4pm Tuesdays
  • 8am – 4pm Fridays
  • Ideally you can provide additional coverage on Wednesdays and Thursdays

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver programs, activities and outings for clients.
  • Assist in meal preparation with clients.
  • Undertake efficient and safe client transport using a bus to and from the Centre.

Essential criteria:

  • Previous experience in a Therapy or Activity Assistant role.
  • Skills in providing client centred, meaningful activities
  • Current Police Clearance, or willingness to apply for one
  • Willingness to obtain required vaccinations – minimum of one covid vaccination and annual flu vaccination.
  • Current C class drivers’ licence.
  • Current First Aid certificate or ability to obtain one within first 3 months of employment.

Desirable criteria:

  • Certificate 3 or 4 Allied Health Assistance or Certificate 3 Aged Care or Individual Support (Aged Care or Home and Community Care).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local community services.
  • LR Class Drivers licence or willingness to obtain one.
