Administration Assistant – Despatch Officer
Living Colour Nursery is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Administration Assistant – Despatch Officer to join our Despatch team. This role is central to ensuring the smooth, accurate, and compliant flow of orders from nursery to customer.
You’ll work closely with Despatch, Sales, and Plant Access teams to manage documentation, invoicing, reporting, and communication that supports efficient daily operations.Key responsibilities
- Prepare and manage despatch documentation including pick/pack lists, barcodes, truck manifests, freight notes, and biosecurity paperwork
- Coordinate with third party transport companies to ensure accurate shipments of stock
- Complete invoicing and maintain clear, timely communication with internal teams
- Enter KPI data and perform quality and accuracy checks
- Assist with public holiday schedules and operational planning
- Respond to customer enquiries and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide support in despatch with regards to packing orders and stock preparation as and when required
About you
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across teams
- Commitment to quality, compliance, and workplace safety
- Proactive approach to problem‑solving and process improvement
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Be comfortable working in all weather conditions out in our despatch facility
- Physically fit and able to be on your feet for extended time periods
- No formal qualifications are required. Previous experience in administration is essential. Experience in horticulture, logistics, or despatch environments will be highly regarded
