What is our AdministrativeAssistantrole?

Administrative Assistant is responsible for theprovision of administrative support, purchasing, data preparationand associated activities of the General Surgery Department,including medical rostering. This role assists the team withadministrative duties as directed by the Head of Department,Consultants and Nursing Staff. In addition, AdministrativeAssistant supervises administrative and clerical support staff inthe department, centre or service if required.

Eligibility to Apply: Australian citizenship or permanent residencyis an essential requirement for applicants to be considered forpermanent positions in the public sector. To be eligible for afixed term appointment you must have documentary evidence of yourentitlement to live and work in Australia for the period of thecontract.

WA Healthengages staff in positions of trust and responsibility. WA Healthpolicies require applicants to undertake a criminal recordsscreening and integrity checking as part of the appointmentprocess. As well as undertaking a criminal record screening andintegrity checking, you may also be required to undertake a workingwith children check (if required for the role) and a pre-employmenthealth assessment. We may ask referees to comment on your integrityand past demonstration of ethical behaviour. Please note thatadverse information does not necessarily disqualify an applicantbut will be considered as part of the appointmentprocess.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill theabove vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar"vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this,should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertisedvacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selectedfrom this process. Both of these options remain valid for a periodof twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorsesthe recruitment decision.
