Position Title - Admissions Counsellor
Department - Admissions & Outreach
Location - Mumbai
Job Summary:
As an Admissions Counsellor at University, you will be a crucial part of the student acquisition team, working closely with both prospective students and their parents. Given the high-investment nature of our academic programs, the role demands a high level of empathy, persuasion, and consultative selling. Your primary focus will be to provide personalized guidance, build trust, and convert quality leads into successful enrolments.
Key Responsibilities
- Contact potential and existing students and their parents to inform and educate them about UNIVERSITY’s unique academic offerings and career outcomes.
- Drive enquiry generation through outbound calls, emails, and follow-ups to maintain a strong pipeline of prospective applicants.
- Build trust-based, advisory relationships with students and families to guide them through a high-value, multi-step decision process.
- Proactively follow up on all leads and nurture interest to convert inquiries into confirmed admissions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate program information, timely responses, and smooth admissions journeys.
- Maintain detailed and updated logs of all calls, interactions, follow-ups, and outcomes using CRM tools.
- Participate in virtual and in-person outreach initiatives including webinars, school interactions, open houses, and admission fairs.
- Provide end-to-end support to applicants during the application, interview, and enrolment stages.
Educational
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university. Candidates with education in marketing, communication, psychology, or business will be preferred.
Skills and Qualities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and regional language
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with both students and parents
- Empathetic, persuasive, and confident with a consultative mindset
- Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and able to meet enrolment targets
- Ability to manage time effectively and work well under pressure
- Professional appearance and conduct during physical and virtual interactions
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Hands-on experience with CRM systems for lead management and tracking
- Comfortable with email marketing tools and virtual communication platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, WhatsApp Business)
- Basic data analysis for reporting and conversion tracking
Additional Information:
- Work Schedule: Full-time position based at University, Mumbai. Flexibility to work weekends or extended hours during admission seasons. Frequent phone and digital engagement with prospective applicants and their families
- In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, you may be assigned other duties or projects as required, depending on your expertise and the evolving needs of the university. Such tasks will be within the scope of your role and may be directed to you at the discretion of the university.
