Role Overview
The Manager – Ad Sales will be responsible for driving large-scale advertising partnerships across digital and offline properties from a media owner’s perspective. This role requires an individual who has personally managed and delivered ₹5 Cr+ in annual business and can independently close strategic, high-value brand and agency deals.
Key Responsibility Areas
Revenue Ownership & Business Scale
- Independently manage and grow a portfolio of advertisers and agencies with ₹5 Cr+ annual business responsibility.
- Drive monetisation across CREX’s advertising inventory during the IPL, World Cups, T20 leagues, and marquee series.
- Structure large-ticket brand partnerships, including seasonal buys, sponsorships, and custom integrations.
Build & Scale the Ad Sales Team
- Hire, train, and manage a high-calibre ad sales team.
- Set clear targets, incentives, and performance metrics.
- Build a strong sales culture focused on consultative selling. Not inventory dumping.
- Mentor team members to grow into senior sales leaders.
Brand & Agency Engagement
- Build strong relationships with CMOs, Brand Heads, Marketing Directors, and Media Planners.
- Engage with media and digital agencies to position CREX as a preferred cricket advertising platform.
- Handle senior-level budget, pricing, and partnership discussions.
Sales Strategy & Deal Closure
- Lead the full sales cycle from prospecting to deal closure and renewals.
- Create customised advertising solutions aligned with brand objectives.
- Coordinate with internal product and operations teams for seamless campaign execution.
Market & Category Understanding
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of digital advertising and sports marketing.
- Track advertiser spends trends across FMCG, FinTech, Auto, E-commerce, Telecom, and Gaming categories.
- Monitor competitor platforms, offerings, and pricing.
Required Experience & Skills
- 5+ years of experience in digital or offline media ad sales.
- Experience working on the media owner, publisher, or platform side.
- Proven track record of managing ₹5 Cr+ in advertiser business.
- Strong agency and brand network.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to build a strong sales culture focused on consultative selling rather than inventory dumping.
