Purpose:
Safeguarding Research efforts at York University aim to equip staff and faculty with information and tools to develop safe, mutually beneficial and transparent global relationships while safeguarding valuable research and institutional reputation. The Office supports compliance with international, federal and provincial research security and Controlled Goods requirements. With expertise in the principles and practices of safeguarding research, open-source diligence, policy analysis and development of training and communications, the Advisor, Safeguarding Research role assists in the development and implementation of York University's safeguarding research strategy, policies, and procedures. The Advisor, Safeguarding Research will conduct due diligence to support research grants, research agreements, partnerships, and commercialization activities and, where appropriate, advise on effective mitigation strategies.
