After Hours Coordinator


Permanent Part Time- 60 hours per fortnight

  • About the role

    The After Hours Hospital Coordinator provides senior clinical and operational leadership for the hospital outside standard business hours.


    This pivotal role ensures the safe, effective and efficient functioning of the hospital when executive and senior management are not on site.


    The role is responsible for coordinating staffing and resources in partnership with clinical and non-clinical leaders, overseeing patient flow and escalation of care, and safeguarding hospital facilities and assets.


    Acting as the senior decision-maker on site, the Coordinator represents and advocates for the organisation after hours.


    Working weekday late shifts and/ or nights shifts and weekends across a 24 hour roster. 

    Your main duties will include:
  • After hours workforce management, incident response and operational decision-making

  • Maintaining clear, timely communication with the On-Call Executive and escalating matters as required to ensure patient safety and service continuity.
  • About you
  • AHPRA Registration, holding a current practising certificate, and with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse

  • Advanced Life Support 1 and Paediatric Life Support - Training can be arranged 

  • Exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills with a high level of analytical, communication and reporting skills

  • Demonstrates effective working relationships with Medical Practitioners, Managers, Nursing and Administrative staff

  • Demonstrates commitment to excellence in customer service and continuous quality improvement

  • Committed to promoting the Mission and Values of the Little Company of Mary with patient-centred quality care as the primary focus of service

  • Experience with indoctrinating the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS Standards) 
  • Desired:

  • Previous experience in Management and Leadership roles

  • Competent in IPM literacy

  • Post graduate qualifications in a business, management and/ or clinical field
