About the Role

My client is a forward-thinking mining company looking for an AI Engineer to join their growing team. This role will focus on designing AI solutions that improve efficiency, safety and predictive maintenance across large-scale mining operations. You will work directly with real-time data systems and open-source tools, alongside engineers and data specialists, to deliver practical solutions with real impact.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AI models for live sensor and operational data.
• Build data pipelines to capture, process and analyse streaming data.
• Deploy and manage applications using Docker.
• Optimise SQL databases and implement data quality frameworks.
• Work with operations and engineering teams to integrate AI into existing workflows.
• Monitor model performance and retrain algorithms when needed.
• Document systems and processes for team knowledge sharing.

Skills & Experience

• Strong programming skills in Python (Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
• Experience with SQL for data querying and optimisation.
• Skilled in Docker and containerised environments.
• Familiar with Linux / Unix systems.
• Background in working with live or streaming data.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Clear communicator and good team player.
