As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials, you’ll dive deep into ground-breaking technologies—like machine learning and AI—to craft novel software solutions that solve our customers’ high-value problems. Our Software Engineers are responsible for designing, prototyping, developing, and debugging software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices to ensure quality and functionality. You'll develop software documentation and test procedures, troubleshoot software problems, and communicate with internal customers to understand project requirements. **Description:**
Applied Materials Image Processing SW Group leads the software development of image processing systems, which are integrated in a wide range of products. Image processing systems capture the images from high speed scanning systems and perform complex image processing algorithms to detect defects on memories and processors chips. These distributed systems consist of many computers and multiprocessors and the processing is done in parallel in order to speed up the calculations.
The group is looking for individual contributor who can be part of the team that develops the optimized (throughput and memory wise) image processing algorithms for a leading product of the company. The team develops efficient, fast and qualified SW and works closely with algorithm engineers during the process. The role includes active code development and working closely with various interfaces.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Implementation of complex optimized image processing algorithms
+ SW design development using Python frameworks on Windows, Linux/Unix
+ SW development according to organized SW development process
+ Working with interfaces during the various stages of SW development
**Job requirements:**
+ **6 -10 yrs of experience with B.Tech / MTech /Ph.d in Electronics / Computer Science with experience in SW implementation of Image processing / Signal processing or related algorithms/Computer Vision**
+ **Strong fundamentals in Python programming**
+ **Good knowledge of OpenCV, Scikit, etc**
+ Good Knowledge of Signal Processing and Intel x86, SIMD, AVX instructions
+ Understanding of SW development cycle, from requirements to testing, integration and delivery
+ Great interpersonal and communication skills
+ **Ability to learn and adapt to a fast-paced environment**
+ **Knowledge of C/C++ will be an advantage**
**Desired Skills:**
+ Familiarity with image processing libraries like IPP would be an advantage
+ Good Optimization skills
+ Algorithm Development
+ Experience in multi processors systems
+ Experience in development under Windows, Linux/Unix
