Hiring: Python + Pytest API Automation Specialist (Remote, Contract)


TechVallunar is looking for a skilled API Test Automation Engineer to join our remote team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys designing clean, maintainable automated tests and understands how to test APIs in a realistic, production-oriented way.

This is not a UI automation role. The focus is on backend and API quality.

Role Overview

As a Python + Pytest API Automation Specialist, you will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated API tests using Python and Pytest
  • Build reusable API clients and helper utilities
  • Create positive, negative, and data-driven test scenarios
  • Validate core API workflows such as create, retrieve, update, and delete
  • Analyze test failures and provide clear feedback to engineering teams
  • Contribute to improving test strategy and automation practices


What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience with Python
  • Hands-on experience with Pytest (fixtures, parametrization, markers)
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, and authentication
  • Experience with requests or httpx
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setup
  • Good problem-solving and debugging skills
  • API contract or schema validation
  • Test reporting (JUnit XML, pytest-html, Allure)
  • CI/CD integration experience
