Application Database Administrator

Job Responsibilities

• An application database administrator (DBA) needs to ensure application related critical patches, database security patches are up to date.
• Ensure the database performance is as expected, plan out housekeeping activities and execute them in a timely manner to prevent any disruption to the business due to lack of space or any other database issues.
• Monitor the database performance during month end batch execution to ensure SLAs are met.
• To advice the developers on any long running jobs and advice on any execution plans or tuning required.
• To address database related issues if it impacts business users and to see it through to resolution, keeping track of the issue, resolution and prevention steps taken.
• To work closely with the infrastructure team to ensure Vulnerability findings reported by Security are managed and addressed up to resolution.
