Application Lead-PostgreSQL

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented PostgreSQL Database Specialist with experience to manage, optimize, and support our PostgreSQL databases. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in PostgreSQL and experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, and data security. Experience with backup and recovery tools(pg-dump, pg_basebackup, Barman etc)Work closely with software developers, DevOps engineers, and data analysts to ensure our data infrastructure is efficient, scalable, and secure. DBA will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, security, and reliability of databases across production, staging, and development systems. Knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting. Familiarity with monitoring tools like pgAdmin, Prometheus, Grafana and Nagios)Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL databases in production and development environments. Install, configure, and upgrade PostgreSQL DB systems Implement and manage backup, restore, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions. Manage database replication(Streaming & logical) and clustering. Monitor database performance, implement tuning measures, and manage indexing strategies. Optimize queries and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks. Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with data regulations. Assist in database schema design and architecture decisions. Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate database solutions with applications. Automate routine database tasks using scripting (e.g., Bash, Python). Stay updated on the latest PostgreSQL features and best practices.
