Job purpose

As an Application Manager you will be working directly across multiple application teams to configure, deploy, test and support in-house written microservices/applications across our global environments. responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing the configuration of microservices using git and YAML for later deployment into global edge-environments.
  • Managing the deployment of new or changed versions of microservices into edge-environments.
  • Working directly with various technologies (MSSQL/MongoDB/Kafka/Docker) to diagnose issues across your running services.
  • Extended diagnostics using existing monitoring/logging tools (Grafana/Loki/Mimir) to find the root cause of issues in your running services.
  • Communicating with on-premise support regarding changes to services and providing training on new features when required.
  • Creating and maintaining training material and documentation for the services which you are deploying and are the owner.
  • Reporting new bugs/issues back to Technical Product Owners/Developers when the problem cannot be solved through extended diagnostics.
  • Technical coordination between developers and on-site support for open issues until they are resolved.

Job requirements:


  • A successfully completed degree in computer science/business informatics or equivalent work experience.
  • experience working with IT infrastructure or server administration (Windows / Linux / Virtualization / networking / Security).
  • Basic knowledge of microservice architecture including Docker/Kubernetes
  • Basic knowledge of CI/CD
  • Familiar with or basic working knowledge of MSSQL/MongoDB/Kafka/Windows/Linux
  • Very good written and spoken English, knowledge of German is an advantage.
  • Very good teamwork skills as well as a customer and service-oriented way of thinking and working.
  • Bonus: prior experience supporting in-house written application/Microservices
