Position Summary

The ServiceNow Application Portfolio Management (APM) Analyst, also known as ServiceNow Enterprise Architecture (EA), is responsible for supporting the integrity and accuracy of the organization's application inventory. This role partners with data stewards to rationalize discovered devices, ensuring they are properly onboarded and mapped to Business Applications and Application Instances. The role also works with application owners to ensure their applications are properly onboarded and follow governance policies. The analyst plays a key role in maintaining visibility into the purpose and impact of technology assets across the enterprise.


Key Responsibilities

Application Portfolio Data Management: Define, support and enforce processes to maintain accurate data in the APM module (, application inventory, lifecycle status, ownership) while ensuring proper classification and categorization of applications (, by capability, tech stack, risk).

Business & IT Alignment: Map applications to business capabilities, processes, and services and support efforts to identify redundant, outdated, or underused applications.

Application Mapping: Onboard devices into the ServiceNow APM module and accurately map them to Business Applications and Application Instances.

Purpose & Impact Documentation: Ensure each device and application is documented with clear business purpose and operational impact.

Data Integrity & Governance: Maintain consistency and accuracy of application data across the CMDB and APM modules, adhering to governance standards.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with application owners, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to validate mappings and improve data quality.

Reporting & Insights: Support reporting efforts to provide visibility into application health, usage, and portfolio optimization opportunities.

Continuous Improvement: Identify gaps in data quality or process efficiency and recommend improvements to enhance APM practices.

Qualifications

BA/BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.

+ years of experience in IT asset or application portfolio management, preferably within ServiceNow.

Familiarity with CMDB, Business Application modeling, and environment mapping.

Understanding of ITIL and enterprise architecture principles.
