Application Support Engineer

Talworx is an emerging recruitment consulting and services firm. We are currently hiring only women candidates for one of our Fintech product-based clients — a leading digital invoice discounting platform operating under the Trade Receivable Discounting System (TReDS) framework.

This platform facilitates seamless connections between MSME suppliers (sellers), their corporate buyers, and a network of financiers. By integrating with buyers' ERP systems, it enables real-time invoice discounting through a transparent, auction-based mechanism. This ensures timely validation of invoices and access to competitive market rates, thereby enhancing liquidity for MSMEs.

Role & responsibilities

• Backend Development:

Develop and maintain PHP-based web applications, including server-side logic, API endpoints, and integration with front-end technologies.

• Database Management:

Design, build, and optimize relational databases (often using SQL) to store and retrieve data efficiently.

• SQL Query Optimization:

Write and optimize SQL queries to retrieve data quickly and efficiently.

• Data Integrity and Security:

Ensure the integrity and security of data stored in the database, including implementing security measures and performing regular backups.

• Integration:

Integrate PHP code with databases and other web services, ensuring seamless data flow and application functionality.

• Troubleshooting:

Diagnose and resolve issues related to PHP code and database performance, including debugging and performance optimization.

• Collaboration:

Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and ensure successful application development.

• Documentation:

Maintain accurate documentation for PHP code and database schemas, ensuring maintainability and collaboration.

Required Skills:

• PHP: Strong proficiency in PHP programming, including object-oriented programming principles, web frameworks, and design patterns.
• SQL: Expertise in SQL database design, query writing, and optimization. Writing PL/SQL SPs and Functions
• Database Systems: Knowledge of relational database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and their respective features and performance characteristics.
• Front-end Technologies: Familiarity with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for integration with back-end applications.
• Problem-solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to PHP code and database performance.
• Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with other developers and stakeholders.
• Testing: Experience with automated testing and continuous integration practices.
