About the Role

TRS Staffing is currently in search of an Area Construction Manager to join our esteemed client’s team based in South Australia. This is a FIFO 5:2 opportunity, leading the safe and efficient execution of shutdown construction activities across Hot Metals OR Non-Hot Metals scopes.



Duties and Responsibilities

Lead planning and execution of shutdown and pre-commitment construction scopes

Implement construction strategies and methodologies to optimise performance

Collaborate with operations to ensure constructability and minimise disruptions

Identify and manage construction risks using established frameworks

Monitor schedules and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Ensure compliance with HSE and environmental standards

Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing site and contractor teams

Skills and Experience

5-10 years of construction leadership experience in heavy industry or resources

Strong knowledge of shutdowns and copper smelting

Proven ability to manage safety, quality, and schedule performance

Excellent stakeholder engagement and team leadership skills

Relevant tertiary qualification or trade/project management certification
