Step into a role where precision craftsmanship meets disciplined process control. As an AS9100 Machining & Surface Finishing Technologist, you will produce high-tolerance components for aerospace and defense programs while upholding AS9100, ISO 9001, and relevant DoD/OEM specifications.
Your Impact
- Deliver parts that conform to tight dimensional and surface finish requirements.
- Protect product integrity through thorough inspection, documentation, and traceability.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying process deviations and implementing corrective actions.
What You Will Do
- Set up and operate lathes, mills, grinders, and finishing systems (lapping, polishing, honing).
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and process sheets to execute work accurately.
- Achieve required tolerances and finishes using disciplined machining and finishing techniques.
- Inspect parts with micrometers, bore gauges, profilometers, CMMs, and optical comparators.
- Maintain compliance with AS9100, ITAR, and NADCAP practices and document results for full traceability.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality to resolve nonconformances and optimize processes.
- Perform preventive maintenance to sustain machine accuracy and reliability.
- Follow Environmental, Health & Safety protocols and practice 5S/Lean.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED; technical/vocational training preferred.
- 3–5 years in precision machining, grinding, or finishing within aerospace/defense or similar high-tolerance settings.
- Proven blueprint reading and GD&T competency; mastery of precision measurement tools.
- Experience with CNC and/or manual machining; exposure to lapping/polishing is advantageous.
- Knowledge of QMS practices and process documentation per AS9100 or MIL-SPEC.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (as program/facility dictates).

- Equipment: CNC Lathe (2–4 axis) (Okuma), mills, grinders, lapping/polishing systems.
- Metrology: Micrometers, bore gauges, profilometers, CMMs, optical comparators.
- Frameworks: AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR, NADCAP, DoD/OEM specifications.
You should be proficient in:
- CNC Machine Installation
