Job Description

Join Us to Build Flight- and Mission-Critical Hardware

Step into a role where precision craftsmanship meets disciplined process control. As an AS9100 Machining & Surface Finishing Technologist, you will produce high-tolerance components for aerospace and defense programs while upholding AS9100, ISO 9001, and relevant DoD/OEM specifications.

Your Impact

  • Deliver parts that conform to tight dimensional and surface finish requirements.

  • Protect product integrity through thorough inspection, documentation, and traceability.

  • Support continuous improvement by identifying process deviations and implementing corrective actions.

What You Will Do

  • Set up and operate lathes, mills, grinders, and finishing systems (lapping, polishing, honing).

  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and process sheets to execute work accurately.

  • Achieve required tolerances and finishes using disciplined machining and finishing techniques.

  • Inspect parts with micrometers, bore gauges, profilometers, CMMs, and optical comparators.

  • Maintain compliance with AS9100, ITAR, and NADCAP practices and document results for full traceability.

  • Collaborate with engineering and quality to resolve nonconformances and optimize processes.

  • Perform preventive maintenance to sustain machine accuracy and reliability.

  • Follow Environmental, Health & Safety protocols and practice 5S/Lean.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED; technical/vocational training preferred.

  • 3–5 years in precision machining, grinding, or finishing within aerospace/defense or similar high-tolerance settings.

  • Proven blueprint reading and GD&T competency; mastery of precision measurement tools.

  • Experience with CNC and/or manual machining; exposure to lapping/polishing is advantageous.

  • Knowledge of QMS practices and process documentation per AS9100 or MIL-SPEC.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset.

  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (as program/facility dictates).

Equipment & Standards

  • Equipment: CNC Lathe (2–4 axis) (Okuma), mills, grinders, lapping/polishing systems.

  • Metrology: Micrometers, bore gauges, profilometers, CMMs, optical comparators.

  • Frameworks: AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR, NADCAP, DoD/OEM specifications.

You should be proficient in:

  • CNC Machine Installation
