Job Overview:

Julius C. Howe Asphalt & Sealing Co is looking for a motivated and experienced Asphalt Estimator to join our growing team. In this full-time position, youll be responsible for preparing accurate estimates, evaluating job sites and coordinating with crews to ensure projects run smoothly. The right candidate will bring strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and at least 1+ years of experience in asphalt maintenance. Key Responsibilities:

• Estimate asphalt project costs including materials, labor, and site-specific needs

• Conduct thorough site visits to evaluate surface conditions and prepare bids

• Prepare detailed, competitive proposals and submit sealed bids as needed

• Coordinate closely with foremen and crew leads

• Communicate with clients to clarify project needs and follow up on past bids

• Manage incoming calls and email inquiries related to asphalt services

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and jobsite protocols

• Build lasting relationships with customers and promote company services

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience in asphalt maintenance or paving estimating.

• Familiarity with asphalt materials, application methods, and industry standards

• Strong communication skills and customer service mindset

• Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented

• Able to manage multiple estimates and projects simultaneously

• Capable of collaborating effectively with field and office personnel

• Proficiency with computers, email, and basic estimating software

• Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation
