The Role
This Assistant Accountant position plays a key role within the Asset Commercial Team, supporting financial operations across revenue, cost allocation, month-end processes and reporting. Working closely with senior finance leaders, you’ll contribute to accurate financial outcomes, meaningful analysis and improvements to systems and processes.
ResponsibilitiesAssist with end-of-month reporting and ensure accuracy of overhead GL accounts Process motor vehicle revenue, cost allocations and monthly MV billing Manage yard revenue and cost allocations Prepare standing journals including accruals and prepayments Perform monthly inventory management and journals Prepare intercompany invoices in line with internal timetables Complete Fuel Tax Credit allocation and insurance aggregate reconciliations Maintain assigned balance sheet reconciliations Prepare monthly revenue, cost and damage reports Analyse vehicle revenue/cost variances and prepare commentary Maintain asset register (additions & disposals) Assist with ad hoc reporting and administrative support as needed The Candidate 3+ years’ experience in finance or accounting support roles Ideally coming from a big four or business services environment Strong Excel skills with exposure to accounting systems (Jobpac desirable) Currently studying or planning to study CPA/CA High attention to detail with strong time-management capability Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across teams Proactive, accountable and comfortable working to deadlines
