Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant / Perth City Centre / Six-Month Contract / $45.00 - $50.00 Per Hour / Flexible Working / Immediate Start

A market leading national engineering business with sites across Australia are looking to recruit a skilled Assistant Accountant / Bookkeeper on a six-month contract. This role has the potential of being extended or becoming permanent. The main purpose of the Assistant Accountant role will be to assist the Financial Controller and wider finance team with various accounting and reporting. Assistant Accountant’s key duties will include:

• Reviewing status of invoices in the delegation of authority workflow and liaising with the business partners on any issues identifie
• Accounting review of invoices before import into MYOB to ensure coding is correct as required.
• Coordinating with various managers for the processing of ad-hoc payments; Partnership payments, international payments, and urgent paymen
• Assisting with reconciliation of bank statemen
• End of month accounting review and journal postings including intercompany reconciliation.
• Preparation of month end balance sheet reconciliations – multiple entities as required
• Weekly cashflow reporting and management.
• Preparation/review of monthly/quarterly BAS, PAYG and FBT.
• Tax compliance – FBT and IAS recurring lodgements/instalments.
• General accounting including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Assist with annual audit.
• Fixed Assets accounting.
• End of month reconciliations.

• Experience of being in a similar role
• Strong analytical and reporting skills
• Excellent & confident communication skills
• Confident with excel
• Proven at meeting strict deadlines
