Job Purpose


The Assistant Director – Tax will support the Global Head of Tax in managing the company’s international tax strategy, compliance, accounting, and advisory functions. This role involves working across regions, contributing to cross-border projects, and engaging with senior stakeholders and external advisors. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise and a collaborative mindset to help drive strategic tax initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage global tax compliance processes to ensure timely and accurate filing of direct and indirect tax returns across key jurisdictions (UK, US, India, etc.).
  • Support global tax accounting and reporting, ensuring alignment with IFRS for group consolidated accounts and local GAAP for standalone entities.
  • Assist in managing tax audits and disputes, coordinating with external legal and tax advisors to support the company’s tax positions.
  • Contribute to international tax planning, including transfer pricing, treaty analysis, and cross-border structuring.
  • Provide tax input on M&A transactions, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of tax governance frameworks, including UK SAO requirements and internal control reviews.
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and business teams to provide tax insights for operational and strategic decisions.
  • Participate in the evaluation and rollout of tax technology solutions to enhance compliance and reporting efficiency.

Key Competencies

  • 8–10 years of post-qualification experience in international taxation, with strong exposure to UK tax (mandatory), and working knowledge of India and US tax regimes.
  • Qualified Accountant (e.g., CA, ACCA, CPA).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across functions and geographies.
  • Analytical mindset with sound judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Self-driven and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in tax advisory transactions is a plus, but not mandatory
