Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant General Foreman assists the General Foreman in directing, administering and overseeing all the activities of the Mechanical Department on a local level including locomotive and freight car. Oversees the support of policies, goals and objectives established by the General Manager and Regional Mechanical Leaders by performing duties personally or through subordinates.
The Assistant General Foreman demonstrates and adheres to the company values of: safety, honesty, ownership, respect and teamwork to ensure successful partnership with customers and employees that result in OmniTRAX's continued success.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operation and the Federal Railroad Association (FRA)
Direct the preparation of short-term and long-range shop and/or location utilization to achieve area goals set forth by the General Manager and Regional CMO and General Foreman
